Dream Dictionary: what does it mean to dream of…
Interpretations of dream symbols and images through six psychological schools. Not a single «answer» — a layered picture from different lenses.
Read articles about dreams →This is not a table of correspondences. An ordinary dream dictionary answers «a tooth means loss», the same for everyone; here each symbol is read through six psychological lenses, so there are several answers — and the dreamer picks.
Meaning comes from context: what you felt in the dream, what's happening in your waking life, how the story ended. So read these pages not as a verdict but as a set of questions to yourself — and start from there.
How to use this
- Start with the feeling, not the object. What did you feel — fear, shame, excitement, relief? The emotion narrows the range of meanings faster than any symbol.
- Find the symbol below and read all six lenses, not just the first. Usually one of them lands — that one is yours.
- Connect it to what's happening now. A dream continues the day: significant events and changes show up directly in its content.

Frequent questions
Do dream dictionaries work?
As a guide to cultural meanings — yes; as prediction — no. A table of meanings knows neither your context nor your feelings, and those are exactly what decide what the image means for you.
Why is the same symbol read differently?
Because the psyche speaks in personal experience, not in a dictionary. A falling tooth for someone afraid of ageing and for someone who just changed jobs are two different dreams behind one picture.
What if the dream was disturbing?
Anxious and aggressive images are ordinary work of the psyche; they don't predict trouble. But if a dream keeps returning or won't let go, talking to a psychologist helps more than any reading.
